The Appliance of Bias

If you’ve read ‘Thinking Fast and Slow’ by Daniel Kahneman (or one of many others) you’ll be familiar with the cognitive biases that steer our thinking. From favouring the simplest-looking options to finding patterns and stories in the sparsest of data, the list has been growing steadily longer during these ‘enlightened’ times.

So to help you keep track – or take advantage of them – here’s a handy, comprehensive and rather beautiful graphical round up of them all.

It was created by John (“jm3”) Manoogian III from the categorization work of Buster Benson.

And if you’d like to tap into this insight on the go, Buster has also created an app called Pocket Biases, available here.
